KPN Telecom renews SMS to Fixed with a Comsys solution
Den Haag, Soesterberg, August 2012 – KPN Telecom with the Headquarter based in Den Haag, the Netherlands has chosen the solutions of Comsys for the new SMS to Fixed system.
KPN strategy of the coming years is the successor to ‘Back to growth’. In the coming years until 2015 KPN aims to strengthen, simplify and grow their businesses. This means that everything is oriented to improving quality, service and technology so as to become the best service provider and strengthen its market position in the Netherlands. Internationally the focus will be on further growth in revenues and profitability.

The SpeechFrame based solution of Comsys for the SMS to Fixed service is fully in-line with the KPN strategy for the coming years. The new environment is based on all the latest technology. It contains a new TTS voice with better quality pronunciation. The throughput will be doubled which increases the delivery speed and the service to customers of KPN. The amount of servers will be decreased using modern hardware and the energy consumption will be lower.

The SMS to Fixed solution is built using the Comsys IVR system which is based on the SpeechFrame platform. This is combined with SMPP, a MAP and a UBS interface, to receive and send SMS from and towards the fixed and mobile phones. For the TTS the engine of Nuance is used. SpeechFrame is a platform that has been fully developed by Comsys for the development of interactive services and solutions. It makes use of all the modern technologies such as VXML, CC-XML, java and SOAP. The platform is fully web based and can be expanded with a graphical Service Creation Environment. The platform supports many different interfaces and various protocols. Comsys can also supply other solutions such as Voicemail systems, conferencing systems, roaming solutions, MVNO solutions.
